On the Verge of Switching to Digital Television

National Telecommunications Commission
The National Telecommunications Commission is the implementing agency for the transition of broadcast systems from old analog to digital broadcasts which will be fully implemented soon. The Philippines has officially adopted the Japanese standard's ISDB-T technology for the said transition.
Major television stations in the Philippines are now starting to upgrade their broadcast systems from analog to digital terrestrial television broadcasts (DTTB) to comply with the standards and technological requirements set by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

NCAA Moves Back to ABS-CBN Sports

The National Collegiate Athletic Association has announced that it will officially renew its broadcast deal with ABS-CBN Sports starting next season after three years with Sports5. It seems that NCAA officials are not happy that the happy network's sports arm is not focusing more on promoting the ladder's coverage of the oldest collegiate sports league in the Philippines, considering that it is more focused on the PBA games due to the demanding requests of the league's fans.

News5 in High Definition, What's Next?

This resulted in the presence of letterboxes in the Aksyon brand of newscasts, simulcast Radyo5 programs, and even the recently reformatted Saturday afternoon public affairs program T3 Alliance.
