The Rise of the Convertibles

In 2014, local tech brands prove to be a dominating force in the Philippine tech industry with successful sales of their own brand of Android smartphones and the successful launch of their own flagship smartphones. Now they are entering the PC scene with their own brand of two-in-1 tablet computers.

As you all know, the 2-in-1 tablet PCs are the combination of two different elements, namely the functions of a full-pledged PC and the portability and convenience of a tablet. Many of these computers run on the latest Windows operating system, particularly Windows 8.1. It is an all-in-one device that can be used as a laptop or a touch tablet. And it seems that local tech brands are getting the hand of these, knowing that they have adopted Intel's processing technology. But the best thing about two-in-1 tablet PCs showcased by local tech brands is the fact that they can be affordable if you're talking about their price tag.

Cherry Mobile was the first to showcase its own all-in-one tablet PC with the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph, which was introduced and became commercially available in mid-2014, followed by Starmobile with its Engage 10 Pro and now O+ with its own Windows-running tablet PC the O+ Convertible. And it would seem that more local tech brands will embrace these new devices, while I predict the brands that first released their own tablet PCs to showcase more than just their first.

Oh, and one more thing, another good thing about two-in-1 tablet computers today when it comes to specifications is its long-lasting battery life. Does this make sense to you if you have one of these above?
