ABS-CBN is the number one television station for Filipino students in the Philippines after reaping nine Best TV Station awards in different student award-giving bodies held during the first quarter of 2015. These include Gawad TANGLAW, UmalohokJUAN, Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards, and UPLB Gandingan.
These award-giving bodies aim to honor and give recognition to television programs, movies and media personalities who promote the respective mission and values of the respective school behind these awards. The winners of these awards are voted not only by students, but also faculty members and staff of the universities.
In the first quarter of 2015, ABS-CBN has garnered a total of 154 awards from eleven student award-giving bodies held in different parts of the country. Among the big winners of these awards are TV Patrol, Matanglawin, It's Showtime, Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) and ASAP. Its AM radio station DZMM and various programs and personalities of ABS-CBN regional stations also stood out in these student awards, garnering 4 Best AM Radio Station trophies and 18 recognitions in combined television and radio categories respectively.
